TANZLUST
a phantastic Dance Performance in two Acts
“They are all dance, and laughter, and delight.”
(Victor Hugo)

The full moon fades into the white of the fateful double entities that no longer follow the laws of grace and fantasy and gather in the ghostly round dance under the descending beams of the spotlights to dance the most seductive of all dances. TANZLUST combines elements of classical ballet, K-pop and folk dance. 17 dancers shatter the myth of the so-called Wilis, girls who must die because of their insatiable lust for dancing. Despite the motherly warning and the patriarchal scowl against an excessive, hysterical dance that generates supernatural powers, the performers of the evening follow their desire and bring the stage to vibrate.

simple language:
In the light of the full moon, some creatures appear: half girl half fairy - animals and plants are also among them. They are well-known for the fact that they make their own rules and have no desire to dance sweetly/lovely. Dancing is their greatest passion and they dance together in circles at night in the mist. Tonight they will show the audience the coolest of their dances and the spotlights on the stage move as fast as the dancers themselves.

TANZLUST combines dance steps of classical ballet, dance to Korean pop music and folk dance. 17 dancers shake the myth - an orally transmitted story - of the so-called Wilis, girls who have to die because of their insatiable joy of dancing, and make their own story out of it. Although the mother warns the girls against the transformation and there are still many concepts in our society about how girls and women* are supposed to be, the performers dance as much and as freely as they want and make the stage shake.
